When people come into our minds or into our dreams does this mean THEY were thinking of us first? How does that work?

That is such a great question...unfortunately there's just know way of knowing for sure. There's really no way to know if they are thinking about you at all. I would think that if they are in your dream, then they are just in your subconscious mind while you are sleeping. I am clearly not an expert! LOL
You hope that you pass through the minds of others. If the case is that they think of you first which in turn makes you think of them, then there's one guy who can't get me off the brain.
Cheers!!

No. When people come into your thoughts, or into your dreams, it means that your brain made a connection -- perhaps because of a smell, or a sound, or a conversation you had, or a sign you read, or any number of things, conscious and unconscious -- that caused the memory of that person to surface.

Here's a true example: I haven't seen the show "Three's Company" since I was a teenager (I'm in my 30s), and certainly haven't thought about it in a long time. Then, one day while out looking at houses, I suddenly thought of the "Regal Beagle", which is the name of the bar on "Three's Company".

Now, I obviously remembered that fact from having seen the show as a teen, but why did I remember it just then? I hadn't thought about that show, much less the name of that fictional bar, in over a decade. Suddenly, for whatever reason, it popped into my head. It's impossible to know what the contextual clues were, what triggered it -- nonetheless, suddenly that information resurfaced. It's no different with thoughts of other people.

A lot of people might say "Yes, but I thought of this person out of the blue, and suddenly they CALLED ME. What about that?" to which I say that our brains are pattern-matching superstars, and often identify patterns where none exist.

For instance, I haven't seen a friend of mine in three years, or talked to her. Then, out of the blue, I decided to call her, but called the wrong number -- and assumed she'd moved away, so didn't try again. Within two weeks, she sent me an email out of the blue.

Is that telepathy? Magic? Something connecting us? Nah, it's just coincidence. Our brains are tempted to put more significance to it, but consider -- we hadn't seen each other or talked in three years. There have been 78 2-week periods (approximately) since we last saw/spoke to each other, so that gives us odds of 1:78, or one chance in 78 that if we both decided to get back in touch with each other, we would spontaneously try to get in touch with each other at the same time. Not great odds, but better than vegas slot odds, and sometimes those machines pay out.

At times, but usually dreams are when your mind is trying to figure out what is going on in your life. I believe however that if you have a strong bond with a person you can share dreams I have had it happen before.
Hope that helps

Weird conclusion. Its just our subconscious bringing it to our conscious attention. Our thoughts making themselves known in the form of pictures and feelings. Or it could be bodily reaction to certain things making its presence felt. Frankly, its a phenomenon that can't be explained in simple terms.

Well this just means you are curius and woundering what the person is like. If you don't know the person very well and my not know them in a personal way, you would make your own personality for this person. It doesn't mean you are madly in love it's you wanna know them more.

Good question! I have always wondered about that myself.
Sometimes when it is someone you love or are close to, it can work that way. I'm not sure about casual acquaintances or friends but it seems to happen occasionally with people you are close to.
