They seems pretty hyprocritical and subjective. Who are they to say the life of a plant is not as valuable or important as the life of an animal? What do they know about the differences in life? Seems just because they personally value a cute animal, they think the plant has no feeling... unless they have been a plant, they do not know! Where do they get off?

PLants do not have brains, hearts, or complex structures within their bodies that classify them as more complicated "animals". Also plants do not express themselves when they are hurt or affected by emotion or pain. When they die we feel little sorrow for them because we don't feel emotionally or at all physically connected to them.
I do see where you're coming from though and understand what you mean.

They are hypocritical, mainly beacuse they have wrong ideas about LIFE, they think young animals as cute, but think of plants as some weird piece of paper-like stuff and seeds as cereal not yet on the mill.
Some claim respect for life, those are the worse!

I like your question because in my opinion, it is one of those questions that make you go "whoounm?" Plants are extremely valuable because we rely on plants for oxygen and they rely on us for the carbon dioxide. I can't believe the unmitigated gall of those vegetarians! A lot of cute and cuddly animals will kill you on the house, but a plant won't unless you eat it! Man has dominion over all the creatures of this world, and if it wants to jump bad and bring harm to me, I say kill it dead for insubordination.

Some vegetarians do not eat meat because the methods used to obtain meat causes excess suffering to animals. Plants, on the other hand, do not suffer like the way animals can.
Some vegetarians do not eat meat because animals can feel pain, while plants can not.
Some vegetarians do not eat meat due to health reasons, often due to allergies, or to genetic predispositions.

Simple..plants dont scream!!
The long answer is....I dont take animals lives..nor do you. Most in America have that done for them..by huge institutions that seem to cater to a meat mindset. [look at your TV ] IF YOU had to kill the animals you ate..I sincerly doubt youd mess with it..and would instead adopt the eating habits we have.
I only wish everyone had to butcher their own animals..thered be a lot less of it.

Somebody said the animals are our ancestors reborn. So when we kill them we have ancestors souls blood on our hands. Plants do not have souls. Because of this it is ok to eat plant.

I have often wondered about that. I don't have a good answer, except to say that since plants seem much more static that vegan's don't think that they have feelings.

Because animals have eyes. When you see somebody killing an animal, you can see its eyes and fell bad. Plants does not have eyes.
