Perverts apart, I have found that the main concern of older people to talk to the coming of age people is to warn them. This growing age with all its promises is also full of potential pitfalls, especially sexual. Some older people had passed throgh that ring of fire. They are solictious to ensure that the younger are aware of the pitfalls

Because we've already been down that road...we were once "younger" too, y'know? We hope that you'll have positive, safe experiences and learn from the mistakes of us/our generation...

well i'm 33 and when i was younger i believed it was because they loved telling me what to do and just having control over my life but now i can honestly say....i give my input or my advice (only when asked cause other wise it is because you enjoying telling people what to do) because i don't wish my earlier escapades to happen to anyone especially to the younger generation....
