He was diving and faking injuries throughout the World Cup. It had gotten so bad that even the ref at the last game wouldn't call any fouls against him because he knew he was faking it. He's considered to be a cheater.
Plus, the whole Rooney ordeal. And I guess I shouldn't even get started on all his turnovers while he was trying to do tricks...

The crowd was booing because he insisted that Rooney should be given a red card. What Rooney did was terribly wrong but you don't have to go out of your way especially he plays for the same club as Rooney i.e. Manchester United. Plus, he is a drama queen. Instead of going for the ball (no one denies that he is an excellent player) he rather dives in order to get penalty/free kicks.

Because just after the French scored, he tried to con the ref by diving and pretending he was pushed to cheatingly gain a penalty. People hate him because although he is a talented player he spoils it by being a con man and complaining all the time. Plus he cries when he doesn't get his own way, like a baby.

He 'apparently' was the reason why Rooney got the red card in the England vs. Portugal match. I still think that nobody deserves to be boo-ed, though. It's just downright disrespectful.

mainly because he's a skilled player but he doesn't really give himself credit for it so he resorts to all these stupid antics thinking people won't see through it. but then they do and many of them don't have qualms about expressing how they feel so now he gets all sorts of abuse... can't blame them though...the guy is incorrigible.
