Princess Mononoke is my favorite. It's a powerful story that handles the man vs. nature conflict in a way that is remarkably even-handed. No side is completely good or bad.
Also, the art is particularly exquisite.
Overall, Princess Mononoke is epic and beautiful in a way that the others just aren't.

I like Spirited Away more than Princess Mononoke maybe because it is aimed a little more at a younger audience. I haven't seen Howl's Moving Castle, but I prefer Castle In The Sky and the Castle Of Cagliostro to the former films.

I'll tell you when I've seen Princess Mononoke. But, Spirited Away is my favourite out of the options, though I like Howl's Moving Castle as a book.

I never had the pleasure of seeing Howl's Moving Castle ... between the other two, I would have to lean slightly more to Spirited Away for its epic quality, although I found the story of Princess Mononoke to be simply incredible.

I have seen all 3 and I have to say that Miyazaki is a genius.
Princess Mononoke I think brought him to light - but it was the clever and dark Spirited Away that made him a legend.
Personally, I also opt for Spirited Away as my fave - in both languages - as it definately grips both adults and children and because it is so moving.
Can't wait for his next film!!!
