I live in the south and there is an abundance of deer, it seems like they wait for you to drive by and they just have to jump the road just as you get to them. It happens at night, anybody know why this happens?

Well I know that, especially when it's dark and headlights are on, they often freeze when hit by lights (which is why people shine deer)...they can't decide which way to go and just freeze, then bound off and sometimes in the direction of the road....they don't know what cars are

Easy answer. In truth deer are really cheyenne warriors reincarnated and they are jumping out to count coup on the cars as they pass. After they jump in front 100 cars they get to come back as either a bear or an eagle. So you see it is just the warrior trying to get to a higher plane of existance. Hope this helps.

Why do humans put highways right through deer territory?
Also why do humans drive on those highways at 80 miles per hour(at night?!)
Also, why cant we seem to see those glowin' eyeballs until it's too late?
Ever seen a car hit a cow? It's even more gross than you can imagine!
I think the answer is that deer/bovine are just plain ignorant of what headlights mean.

From the deer's point of view, they want to know why cars keep jumping out in front of them.

they don't jump in front of cars, usually they are trying 2 cross the street and then a car comes by so they try 2 hurry up and make it across the street before they get hit by a car.
