I HAVE read the poem (several times) and I loved it. I'm asking this because all the movies I've seen are nothing like the poem and I've heard that the new movie with Gerard Butler takes a lot of hollywood "creativity" too.

To patchesvz121: I didn't ask if there was a film I could watch instead of reading the poem, I'm not stupid. If that's what I meant, that's what I would have asked.

Beowulf exhibits a rather precise description of Anglo-Saxon warrior custom. do not overlook, the Anglo-Saxons are on the starting up German, yet migrated to Britain. thinking the very incontrovertible actuality that of this, they nonetheless enhance the warrior custom which the Germanic tribes had earlier. Chiefs, which contain Beowulf, would have their own band of warriors who would swear fealty to their chief. it truly is all I received, sorry.

We have to wait for the Angelina Jolie version of Beowulf. Hopefully it will do the poem justice.
