i got a stye the other day and i took my contacts out and cleaned them and left them in the case for about a week are they safe to use or should i throw them out and use a new pair?

The contact lens solution should disinfect your lenses adequately. But since they were stored in the same solution for a week you should reclean them before insertion. Place the lenses (one at a time) in the palm of your hand and cover with solution, then use your middle finger to massage the lense for several seconds to adequately clean them. This should be done even if the solution says "no rub".

I think that maybe it might be best to not use them again..I'm just a mom, but your eyes are very important and styes are a type of infection i'm sure. So, to be on the safe side I would not risk using them again..Of course you could call the eye doctor to make sure....

A stye is caused by a bacterial infection, better safe then sorry. Toss them.
