i always like to stare at my rommate when he walks around in his short shorts,but im not attracted to these other guy that are gay. Am i gay?

It is possible that you are attracted to him for some reason, but not other men. I used to know a guy and he told me that I was the only guy he was ever attracted to. Some people just have that special something that attracts us. I have also heard of men that like to cuddle with other men when they sleep but they are not gay either.
I also would question your roommate however, because I don't know any men that wear short shorts, not even gay men!
( do you think about him when you masturbate? that would be a sign)

are you gay? ask yourself this question. First why are you attracted to him? Is it his face, build, penis, butt? or is it all of them and the fact that you too have a friendship/companioship as well.
You may not find many other men attractive because for you it takes more than looks to like a guy. It takes an emotional bond as well. If it takes both of these for you to be arosed, then chances are you are at least bi, and would consider a good relationship with a man.

You may not be gay, but you may be homosexual.
Gay is a word that has come to mean many things and in a world where people defy stereotypes more and more the word "gay" tends to do more "harm than good".
Gay, in my thinking, refers more thesedays to lifestyle. I really think people need to get back to basics and discuss ones sexuality.
Many men, or women, who have feelings for members of the same sex but dont identify with "gay culture" think that may not be homosexual after all and often take much longer to come out about their sexuality.
I have friends who are homo who absolutely detest the gay scene and feel they have nothing in common with it.
If you think your attracted to your room-mate, "listen" to how you feel, and dont be put off by how others express their sexuality.
There are as many types of "gayness" as there are gays.
p.s. Maybe watch Brokeback Mountain or some gay porn to see if it "smokes your tyres".

You don't need to worry, Your not gay. It is okay to stare at other guys even if they are wearing short shorts. So just feel free and don't sweat over something small.
