So you see the lower price. Ever see something advertised for $9.99- they do it because it can be hawked as "under ten dollars"

Same for gas marketing-it looks a penny cheaper.

So greedy oil importers can make more money...Kinda like pricing things at $9.99; it just sounds and looks cheaper that $10.00. Walmart has taken things a step further and started doing the $9.88 or $4.54 pricing.
People will go to a gas station that says $2.79 instead of $2.80 we think we are saving money (and we are, it's just not very much).
