how do u prnounce it?! Oshen i mean....
Itz a kute name...but eternially it depends on their face looks and their hair color. If u know it. If not then i would say that yeah itz different and its kute so yeah. But if the first name doesn't fit her face then i would say change the first name name but other wise itz kute. I like the name. But personal likes include: Isabell: Bella 4 short, Lily, Mia, Josephine, McKenna: Kenna for short (my sister's name), Miracle, Jasmine, Sabrina, Malina, etc. But check out this site of baby names. hope this helps.
Well, if u live in hawaii...lai. (lay-a), Kalea

As a mother of three girls, my advice to you is this. Shout the complete name (first, middle and last) like you would if you were reprimanding her. Do this several times out loud and see how it rolls off of the tongue. This is important because, trust me, you will be doing it when the little darling gets older. :)
If it sounds good, it rolls off the tongue well and you like it, that is what matters most. The only concern I have with the "Oshen" part is that you will have a hard time finding things with her name on them and people will always be spelling it wrong. That can always be frustrating for a child. I don't know of a single little girl who hasn't been irritated by these things.
At the end of the day, it is your decision. Don't let anybody change your mind because they don't like the name. It is your child. If they want a different name, they can have a child and name it whatever they want, but this is your child. Most importantly, congratulations on your new arrival. Enjoy every minute because they grow up way too fast.

that's...ummmm...unique
I like Skye, not so fond of Oshen. You could go with Winter, Rayne/Raina, River...
Also if you're going to use Oshen, just spell it Ocean. People would just pronounce it wrong like the Osh in Osh Gosh B'Gosh
I was going to say Ariana or Raquel or something

This is really a very pretty name, but have you considered giving her another first name she won't have to explain/or defend? What about Dawn Oshen Skye.... As a child I was called by my middle name. When I hit high school they started to use my first name . Awful. Wasn't me. Sometimes 4 names are better than three. Also, have uncle with no name only letters, name is : J D . One of the best things you can give your child is a name to denote just how special you think they are. One of the other things you do for your child is not to give other kids fodder to make your child's life more uncomfortable than it already will be. Wish you the best.

skye wouldn't be so bad.... but i think anyone named "oshen" would have a hard time growing up. no one would ever know how to pronounce or spell her name and other kids would find some way to make fun of her for it.

I don't like funky names or spellings. Remember, you kid is going to have to live with that name for the rest of her life, and it gets really old when no one can spell or pronounce your name.
Skye is not horrible, but I would drop the Oshen.

oshen is a stupid name. she's going to get picked on ruthlessly. you wouldn't name her atlantic or pacific would you? try again. this time stop trying to describe a landscape.
Maybe something traditional polynesian. I once went to church with a little hawian girl named Kohlina. That was a cute and different name. Her brother was named Kohlie (i know that's now spelled right)

Don't forget that that little girl will have the same name when she grows up to become a woman. I'm most in favor of naming a person a name with meaning that tells you something real about that person.
