Well honestly he has played exceptional in the World Cup. He had absolutely nothing he could do against the goals scored by the Italians. Grosso's shot was a picture perfect shot that no goalie in the world would have saved, especially considering the angle the shot was taken, the angle of the goal that it was aimed at and all the players covering his vision.
BUT!!!! I still think Oliver Kahn is the best in the business and he should have been in goal throughout. I understand trying to bring a new generation up but if a plyer is still the best he should have a chance to play. Look at Nedved, Zidane, Roberto carlos whom all were exceptional in this cup.

Yes, he does.
I would have gone with Kahn, because there was no really good reason to change the Status Quo, but they're both very good keepers and any country would be glad to have them (well, except Italy, they wouldn't need them).
Can you imagine France with a good keeper ?! Almost unbeatable.
