I went off the birth control pill about 1 month ago, and we're trying to have a baby, so chances are I could be pregnant. I know that it could take up to 3 months to have a normal period again, and before I went on the pill 6 years ago I had a regular period.
Now if my normal period were to start, it should of started about 2 days ago and now it's day 3 and I started getting some menstrual cramps for about an hour followed by some clear/white discharge. The cramps have stopped.
I just find it weird that I'm getting cramps around the time I would normally have my period, but I'm still not bleeding and wondering if it's a sign that I could be pregnant.
I've had every pregnancy symptom one person could possibly have, but I'm not sure if it could be from getting off the pill even if it's been almost 5 weeks of being off it.
I don't want to take a pregnancy test just yet, incase it's too early.
So what do you think the menstrual cramps followed by clear/white discharge means?

I was on the pill for 6.5 years, I quit it on March 13 this year and it took me 6 weeks to have my first period, I had the same symptoms you are experiencing, I also thought i was pregnant, but i wasn't premesntrual symptoms are the same as early pregnancy symptoms. I had my first period on May 3rd, I was going to start charting my cycles when I found out I was pregnant! I got pregnant on my first cycle! but that was after my first period, I ovulated between 12-14 of may and got pregnant right in there! Anyway, i am perfectly healthy, baby is 9 weeks now and I am feeling awesome (other than the morning sickness I feel great) So give your body some time, I had the cramping too and lots of clear discharge right before i got my period, and the morning of the day I had my period I had a lot of nausea and my nipples tingled, I swore i was pregnant so I took a pregnancy test and it was negative and about 20 minutes after that I got my period, so It took my body 6 weeks to get back to normal thank God for that! Give it some time, relax, and remember if you get your period that is a great thing, that means your body is working on its own without the pill, so now you can start charting! Good luck

I just read what the person above me wrote and that is so false and ignorant!! There is no medical evidence of birth control causing defects!! come on woman instruct yourself, pick up a book and read!! you will see how women on birth control actually keep their reproductive system working better than those who don't!!! Don't listen to what that woman wrote, she needs to get herlself educated first!!
