Matter cannot be destroyed, but it can be compressed and expanded. The force of gravity inside a black hole is It very large. So depending on the form of the matter entering the black hole, something could be shredded by gravitational force (shred apart by the huge force pulling the matter towards the hole) , and compressed to infinite (or very high?) density.
But well, I'm no scientist..

Who really knows but best guess is that it gets crushed into infinite density. Though I've read a bunch of stuff lately about how matter is eventually expelled from the black hole. So if you're ever sucked into one and then expelled let us know what happened.

Matter drawn into a black hole becomes part of the black hole and increases its mass. Just because it disappears doesn't mean it doesn't exist anymore.

It depends. Most of it just stays there . . . except some gets out by quantum tunneling (vide Hawking), so the hole slowly evaporates. Some people also think the matter gets spit out elsewhere (and maybe else*when*)from a *white hole*.

Its converted to energy as it falls in and it is energy which the black hole swallows up.

matter is made up of large quanitities of energy so it can only be converted between the two. energy is electromagnetic waves. What im curious about is the process of energy into matter

im not going to say how it escaps because that is not the question.
your question is does it get destroyed.
the answer is no the black hole increases in energy.
