I had a similar question for a long time. But I recently found out the answer. You see, music that you download from iTunes is protected so it won't be copied and stuff. Also, you can't play it on regular mp3 playeers. However, there is a way around it. In your itunes library, make a list of the songs you bought and want on a non-ipod mp3 player. Then burn these songs onto a audio cd. Then, go into the importing setting in itunes and change it so when u import songs, they import to mp3s. Now, import the cd you burned and now they are unprotected and can be put on any mp3 player.

Hope that helps!

Hope you have an 'ipod'. So far as I know 'itunes' will only work on 'ipod's.
