Sometimes using too much dark shadow can make you look tired. Try this:
Get an eye shadow quad which contains a white (or just light shade), a dark charcoal-like shade, and two others of your choice. Take the light and put all over the eye, then take the two colors of choice (lets say a dark pink and light pink). Blend slightly with a brush and apply just above your crease. Take the dark color and put ONLY in the crease of the eye and inward on the edge (like a "7"). This will keep your eyes looking fresh and bigger. Take a dark liner and line top lids all the way, and bottom lids half way. Take a brush and brush over the liner on your top lids. Take a Q-Tip and slightly blend the liner under your eye. Finish by curling your lashes, applying black mascara, and a little bit of translucent lip gloss. And you're done! P.S. If you're white like I am from working in an office vs. basking in the sun, apply some bronzer too over the ridge of your nose and where the sun hits. It'll complete your look. Hope this helps!

u can make ur eyes smokey by getting a dark eyeshadow (dark brown, olive green, wateva) and line the lower eyelid with it and put some of that color on the entire upper lid. and then get a lighter color, like a soft pink if ur using dark brown eyeshadow, and blend it in until u get 2 the brow bone. then just get an even lighter color and fill in the rest

translucent powder on the lids...
use dark cake eyeshadow powder with a small angled brush...
wet the brush a little to form a hard edge...
put eyeshadow on just the tip of the brush and then tap on a counter to remove excess...
line upper lid with eyeshadow just above the lash line, starting at the outside corner of the eye with a thicker line, moving toward the inside corner with a narrower line...
line the lower lid in the same manner, but only 2/3 of the way across...
use a dry brush or q-tip to "smudge" lines slightly and blend into the lash line...
finish with a light-colored shadow...
note: a sparkly white- or gold-toned shadow makes eyes appear larger and more "awake." a violet-toned shadow makes darker (brown) eyes brighter.

To get the look of "smoky" eyes, you should use darker eyeshadow (browns, blacks, greys, and even navy and dark plums) and dark eyeliner and smudge and blend it. Try looking at fashion magazines for pictures of the end result (if done improperly, you get the appearance of a blck eye or shmutz all over your face).

To make your eyes look softer, I would suggest using white eyeliner on the liner rim of your bottom lid. It's a subtle way of making your eyes look wider and softer.

use like, a brownish goldish eyeshadow and a brown mascara and eyeliner. Make sure that your eyeliner isnt jet black, try a more gentle color eyeliner like a brown or dark brown. but nothing darker. but that should give you that "soft" look.

I would say use black eyeshadow (not a lot) and use a charcoal color on the top part of the black (not too much) so there's a blend of both...try it..

Put the eyeliner right into the lash line, and then smudge it.
