from swimming usually. you can get swimmer's ear or tropical ear. It can get infected, usually in wet climates. There are drops at the drug store (mostly alcohol) that you can put in to prevent this. Aquaear is one brand.

When water gets into your ears, it can cause a lot of problems. It can cause earache, or ear infection. Some people call it swimmers ear. Our children used to get this when we had our pool..our family doctor told me, after many visits to the doctor with infected ears, that a simple procedure could stop it for ever. He told me to get some Crown Royal, and drop a few drops in the ear and the alcohol in the liquer would kill all the bacteria in the ear and they would not have it anymore.. But to get earplugs after that and make them use them....I done this and they never had a problem again, thereby keeping down doctor bills...it really works...

If youre trying to get water out of ears try a little vinegar and peroxide mixed together 1/2 & 1/2. A little drop in your ear..let it set for a second and the tilt your head over and the water should come out.

If it happens tilt your head to that side and hop on same side leg. If this fails carefully try to suck it with absorbent cloth. Otherwise dont worry it will dry out in due time. If not go to a doctor.
