I'm going to assume you mean "How do you calculate sales tax?"
Each state has a different amount of sales tax, so I'm just going to show you with 5% then 6% and then you can replace with your own state's %.
If you buy something for $32 with 5%tax you find the tax by multiplying by .05
32*.05=tax
If you buy something for $32 with 6%tax you find the tax by multiplying by .06
32*.06=tax

Sales Tax? The sales tax in my region of California is 7-3/8%. Therefore, if taxable purchases total $1000.00 the total cost to the consumer is $1073.75. Other areas throughout the US have their own tax rate. This same purchase in Sacramento would cost the consumer $1085.00 because the sales tax is higher. If your question is about Income Tax, I let Turbo Tax do the calculations.

you take the tax rate move the decimal over two places and multiply by the number you have. for example, if you want to know how much sales tax it is for a TV in your local store that's $500... its $500 x 1.06 (if you live in CT) = $530 ($30 being tax).

You take whatever the price is and you multiply it by the percent of tax there is in your state/county.Then you add the result to the price for a total cost.
Example: $19.99(price of item) x 8.25%( my county tax)=$1.64(the tax). $19.99 + $1.64=$21.63(total price)
If you are wanting to know about income taxes, then you can find that at http://www.irs.gov/individuals/index.html
Hope that helps you.:)
