go to craigslist.org. then pick what city you live in or are near. post an ad on there stating your age, and that you would like to do errands or odd jobs for people for money. make sure you state what you want to do (babysit, mow lawns, walk dogs, clean house for an elderly person...or a busy parent.)

make sure your parents meet wtih the person whom you may get a job with so that they know you will be safe.

you can also ask a local grocery store if you can put an ad up on their bulliten board.

When I was your age, I would either babysit or help take care of neighbors animals when they went out of town. My son, got a side job at 12 helping the neighbors in our subdivision by walking their dogs. Or, you could offer to help the elderly in your area with groceries or errands (as long as it's within reason). Helping the elderly is rewarding in many ways, you get paid, but at the same time, you are helping someone in need. Plus, the elderly have great stories and really enjoy the company of young people. If you enjoy the outdoors, you could help weed the gardens or maybe help around the house. If you are truly ambious and want to make some money, make a flyer with somethings you enjoy doing, because as long as your are doing something you enjoy , it will not seem like work and you will stick with it. It's not just about making money, it is enjoying what you are doing as well. Hope this helps you some!! Lou

Under KS law you cannot be employed until you are 14, unless you're working for a family owned business. Since you're 13, your options are babysitting, house sitting, pet sitting, mowing lawns, etc. Make a flyer up on the computer, print it out with your name, age, if you're CPR certified, taken a babysitters course, address, phone number, etc. People will need others to get their mail while on vacation, water plants, feed/walk the dog, etc. Good luck

I think McDonald's starts hiring at 13. If not, a similar, smaller name might.
