The answer ultimately is NO. If liquid has got into the circuit
Once water gets on a motherboard, it starts to corrode the mobile phone circuit. Even if you dry it out. You can get minor conductivity between circuit tracks that are not supposed to conduct. The overall effect is that it changes voltage and current levels in the board. The phone may work initially, but over time it causes stress to other components, as mobile phones are high precision devices, worked out with thousands of micro components, they will eventually be effected.
So my advice:
Dry and clean it off with if at all poss.
Save your data, and put it on EBay
:-)

Wow I thought I was the only person stupid enough to have done that! You've made my day! I dropped my old Nokia 6230 down the toilet in my local pub (before using the toilet I must add!) and it wouldn't turn on.
What I did was to take the phone to bits (remove front cover, back cover, buttons, battery, sim card) and leave it somewhere warm - ideally by a sunny window - for a day. Stick it all back together, cross your fingers and turn it on. If it doesn't work, then it's probably not much good for anything except as a doorstop.

There is a way to sort these water damaged phones but may need a new battery. Seeing as no one else knows this then I cant tell you as I fix a lot of these phones and they work perfectly.
Sorry.

Sadly... probably not. H2O damage is a phone killer. Try taking it apart as much as you can and get a blow drier or fan on it immedietly, and mabey you can salvage it. I would also recommend swabbing it with a good amout of alcohol. Not only to disinfect, but the alcohol will also help to dry up any remaining moisture. Hope you have insurance!!!

take it apart, put it all on a tray to dry for a couple of days. Let it have plenty of time to dry out and u might just be lucky.
I watched a programme about mobiles being dropped in water, they took theirs apart and dried them and they worked after.

Eeeewww!!!! Let it dry out. Usually they'll still work. Otherwise, you'll have to take it back to the manufacturer.
