no web site will prepare you for parenthood. you will take the lumps like all that have gone before you. 8yr olds like to play. my advice is that you get down and dirty play like a kid. mud means nothing. play like a kid but guide like an adult. kids will always gravitate to the people they feel are genuine. love laugh play and live. you'll be ok. best of luck

there is no website or book for that. you just get to know her and love her as you go along. I can only suggest watching the movie "Step mom" with Julia Roberts and Susan Serandon. This is kind of a worst case scenario. But the idea is pretty on point.

I dont really understand why you need a website... Do you have kids of your own? If you do, just be yourself and show this child love and comfort, yet still be the parent. I learned with my step daughter who is 3 now. It just takes time within time you guys will understand eachother and keep the Lord with you and everything will work out.

I dont know a website but i can tell you from experience- I have had to stepmothers I hated both of them- All either of them could do is trash my mother and try to be my mother-PLEASE DONT DO THAT TO HER- they wld ridicule me for stupid things- one of them even let me go to school with unmatching sweats then when i got home told me i was stupid and it was my fault i got made fun of-i was 6. Just try to be her friend first explain teh situation and set reasonable guidlines of what you expect from her and maybe even ahve her do it for you- then tlk about the issuse and comprimise
