It took 8 months to get pregnant with first cause we weren't really educated on it too much. The second took about 4 months and I am currently expecting my third which we got on first try! This time around, we purchased the clear blue easy fertility monitor. It's a little pricey but totally worth it! We also purchased The Shettle's Method book to help in choosing the sex of our baby. We did everything to a T for a boy and that's what we are having! Recommend to everyone!

It worries me to see all these woman asking all of these basic questions about their bodies and their cycles….and then getting all these different answers – and usually most of these answers are WRONG!
This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive. My Doctor recommended it to me and after 1 year of trying I got the book. It worked the very next month. It turns out that my timing was wrong due to mis-information. I hope it helps you, too! It's not only about getting pregnant. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

first pregnancy took 2.5 years, and second took 17 months, but i miscarried. third pregnancy took 1 month! They say because the miscarriage cleaned everything out, but maybe because my hubby stopped smoking during second pregnancy? That is my theory, We were in complete shock, expecting it to take at least a year, I kept worrying i was psycho, just convincing myself i was pregnant instead of dealing with the loss of my baby. If you are worried, go see a doctor, and get the tests done. Even if you can't afford the medicines and infertility treatments, you can at least know what is wrong, or if there is absolutely no possibility of getting pregnant. One magic trick i have learned from doctor is that you are much more likely to get pregnant if you have an orgasm. When you do, you body produces a special discharge that is extremely sperm friendly, and during orgasm your cervix opens up slightly, and moves lower all of which makes it easier for the sperm to get to your egg! I used to think it was just the doc joking with me, but I have even seen it on discovery channel and other documentaries since then. It is scientifically proven! Also lots more fun!!!

Oh, honey, you need to see someone. 4 years is way too long. I went off the depo after 9 years with my first pregnancy. It took 5 months after I missed my shot to get preggos. I went off it again after 2 years with my second pregnancy, that time it took 6 months with the help of a 21 day ovulation kit. I highly recommend them, you start the day after your period ends and test daily. If you are ovulating, the LH in your body surges and the test detects it. Then it's time to get in there and make a baby.
Maybe you aren't ovulating regularly or your hubbys sperm aren't moving as freely as they should. I hate to see you wait so long if it can be fixed or resolved with a few tests. Good luck to you!

We tried one time but I'm sure that is not what you wanted to hear. Are you using ovulation sticks? Or an ovulation calculator? Go see a specialist, it may help. Good Luck!

My husband and I started trying as soon as we got married, but it took us two years. I know a couple who tried longer than that and they finally got pregnant. I can tell you that you do not have any control of it yourself. God is the one who knows when and if you are supposed to get pregnant. When I realized that, I finally got pregnant.
