ok - Because they don't understand the disorder. I understand what you have.
You have the same thing that Tsarevich Alexi Romanov from the Imperial Dynasty of Russia had.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanov
You should watch the movie Rasputin (very cool movie).
Honestly, kids are jerks. I cannot believe they made you tell people and then they didn't clearly explain what you have...
I know it's not contagious. I know it's genetic. I know there's nothing you can do about it and that you won't clot if you start bleeding....
I cannot tell you why these kids are mean. Maybe you should just put more effort into trying to make friends and explaining your situation. It's nothing to be ashamed of.
I feel bad that kids are being such asses to you. About the only thing I can tell you is that one day you'll grow up and get away from those punks.
Surely you've heard the saying, "Kids can be so cruel". Well this is one of those things...kids can be such ignorant jerks. I think it's because they are immature and self absorbed.
Ignore the asses and find some nice people to hang out with. =)
Sorry and Good Luck!

Hi Nightengale!
Believe me, people are afraid of a lot of things today and there really is no reason for that.
There seems to be an attitude that if you are different - in any way - from the 'status quo', then something is 'wrong with you'.
But that is not necessarily so! You're not even different, really!
You can bleed profusely if you are wounded. That's it! That's all! Lots of people do.
Don't let it get you down, dear! I am sure you are as normal as everyone else; it's their loss if they won't allow themselves to see that.
There are beautiful people out there who will be happy to be friends with you. Have a little faith!
Froggy (that's me)

They are ignorant.
The entire British Royal Family are Hemo-pheliacs.
You know the lady who walks behind the Queen carrying a small purse every time they go on tour ? There is a pint of the Queens blood and an Ivy tube in that purse.
Do you ever wonder what is in the Queens purse when she travels alone? You guessed right. A gun !

I'm sorry about your hemophilia. I really am. As for the people who are avoiding you, it might be a hard thing for them to grasp at first. But convince them that it's not contagious, and there is no harm in being around you. If they still decline, then you're going to have to find new people.
People that will accept you always, regardless.

Most people don't know what hemophilia is, so when they hear this word it sounds like a contageous disease. When you say you have hemophelia, go right into the explanation of what it is, that it's not a contageous disease, it just prevents your blood from clotting and you could lose too much blood. Once they realize that, they should be ok with it.

I think the Ryan White story is still widely known. Ryan was a young man who was a hemophiliac that contracted AIDS through his blood transfusions. That may be what is scary to people.

hemophilia is not contageous although it is hereditary. the people at your school either don't know anything about hemophilia and just assume its something bad or contageous or they just avoid you because they dont want to accidently bump into or hurt you. i would say the best thing to do would be to just talk to some people about it. educate them if they dont know what it is or ask the school to help spread awareness of hemophilia so the students dont think you're contageous or what have you. i guess some people just dont understand...

hemophilia is not contagious. It is the absence of certain blood clotting factors in your blood that will not let you clot safely so you could bleed to death or form dangerous clots when you do clot off.
Tell the kids that you are missing a part of your blood that keeps you from bleeding to death and that they can't catch it because it is only passed on from parents to their children and they already have what they need to clot their blood so you can't "take it away from them". They just need to be careful not to hurt you is all.
Hope this helps. ;-)

people are still going to act that way, no matter what. i think its stupid to treat someone diffrent if they have anything contagious or not. but its how people are raisede. they are tought that if you are diffrent then u can not be normal, its like rascism back in the day. if u were not white u wernt good enough. you couldnt accomplish anything. you were not smart. you are not someone who can be popular because u are diffrent. thats how things were. people think times have changed. but they havent. once someone realizes that someone is diffrent they are treated like an outcast. its stupid. and im sorry that people do that to you. i dont think ur any diffrent than me or my friends. peopel who think ur diffrent or treat u diffrently are just shalloow and a waste of ur time. dont worry about them. one day they will be working for you. so dont trip.
