If a man or woman is truely gay, and I have to emphasize truely, how is it that gay men in particular are able to be aroused enough to have had years of marriage and sex with a woman? The typical answer will be that early on this society frowned on gay expression and persons were forced into seemingly "straight" lives in the guise of mariage. That still doesnt work. The claim by gay folks is that they are as equally attracted to the same sex as hetrosexuals are to the opposite sex. So whether or not you were trying to "hide" your orientation I dont understand how a Truely gay man is able to get sexual with a woman. I say that because 90% of straight males are completely repulsed by being with a man(of course theirs a 10 to 15% who experiment or are confused). Because of the claim of equality of attraction I would think a gay man or woman would be repulsed by the thought of sex with the opposite sex, just like 90% of hetrosexuals are turned off by sex with the same sex. Any thoughts?

I am not gay or lesbian but I certainly understand what it is like to love and to be loved. Is that not what everyone wishes for in life?

I think you are missing some serious points. I was married, had a very successful marriage, two kids, loved sex with my wife. There came a day when I 'came out' physically, went head over heels for the guy, and it lasted 16 years. Being Gay is not all about sex...it is about who we love. Gee....sounds almost straight, doesn' t it. Why do straights see Gay as ONLY sex? You really need a better understanding of what is going on before you can ask a question like this. You, for some reason, think that the only thing Gay about people is who is doing who...not true, what so ever. Some men cannot function in any form with a woman, others do just fine. And both these men may be very gay. NOT bi, but gay. The functioning is SEX, not attraction or love. I consider myself to be gay, but as far as going out with women, having sex with women...no repulsion here..just a matter of nature. I am attracted far more to men than I am to women. And again, I do not consider myself to be Bi. All in all, stop thinking about the sexual part of it and look at is as a whole life style...and that includes love, sharing, caring, in fact, the whole gamit of what Straights do. Big deal. IF I came in with the same question about being striaght, based soley on sex, I would be lamblasted from here to Alberquerque. And that is a long way.

Well they are not truly gay as you put it just truly bisexual. Search the Internet for the Kinsey study it Will show that there is a scale with only 9 % of study participants being truly 100% gay (Kinsey 6) and 29 % being 100% straight. (Kinsey 0) The other 62 % is bisexual with about 10 to 12% being completely in the middle having equal attraction to male as to female. (Kinsey 3)
I am a Kinsey 3 so I know what I am talking about.
Edit
No one decides to be bisexual any more than one decides to be gay or straight. We are all born this way. Some just take longer to accept it than others.

Well some say so some say no. I mean like if I was gay and got turned down i would see if i could still get with a women just to see if i am repulsive against having sex with a female or male. I think that is why people decide to be bisexual.

I was married at 19 - - to a woman - I got married because I thought that is what I had to do - we were together for four years and then I came out and we got divorced. During our marriage we had sex often, and were very experimental. Honestly I just don't remember much about my feelings during sex. I know that she would have multiple orgasms - because of my lack of true excitement it would take me FOREVER to climax.

As far as my 'ability to get aroused' - heck a good strong wind and I have wood - I have always just been an easily aroused guy. However I could never give her oral sex - it did repulse me, and I would not let her give me oral sex, she was terrible at it!

I felt that I had to perform and I was young and it was always ready for a little friction....but with women that's all it was....friction...it wasn't until men that the fireworks started.....I'm not bi and the thought of straight sex certainly doesn't repulse me....It's just that I am gay...I like men...
I think you are very valid in your assumption that you don't understand this...I think you have to have gone through this in your life to know what it's like....every gay man has gone through a coming out process and it ain't easy.

i was using sex with men for power over them. i never loved them. i was turned on by the dominance. with women i actually love. anyone can take the emotion out of sex. from there it's just like taking robitussin: you know have to and you don't like it but you can do it without a lot of fuss. besides, just because a person is gay doesn't mean they can't love an opposite sex person. just not COMPLETELY.

For me it was a matter of priorities. I was ashamed of my attraction to women but the overwhelming drive I felt was a desire to have the picket fence family.
That desire, that drive over-rode any sexual desires I had at the time. I wanted to be normal and have the Cosby family more than anything in the world.
Living in shame brought me out.

Most men can have an orgasm in their own bare hands.
Its not so suprising that a willing vagina would still reasonably gratify even the gayest of men.
