I ride the bus, i have noticed the people with the electric chairs, some really do need them, and other people don't.
The people who don't, can't park the chairs, so they( get up) and move the chairs, if they are disabled are they subposed to do that?

I suppose it would depend on the severity of thier affliction. Some people still have the ability to use their legs, just for very short periods of time, which is why they have the motorized chairs. I agree with you that it looks quite weird to see them get up and arrange the chair and sit back down, however I would bet that the most of them couldn't walk a full city block without being in a lot of pain. I like to remind myself in those situations that things are not always as they seem. All we see is the surface of situation, but not the guts of that individual's story, so I try not to be too quick to judge.

Just because they can stand up for a few seconds doesn't mean they don't need a chair. People don't buy wheelchairs just to get a good seat on the bus.

Good question. I would have to agree with the previous person. The individual might need the chair, but not all the time.

Maybe they do need the chairs, just not as extensively as others. You don't know what the situation is. Though I am sure that there are some people who are just lazy.

SOME PEOPLE WHO CAN WALK A SHORT DISTANCE(SUCH AS MYSELF) ARE DISABLED & NEED THE ELECTRIC CHAIRS. IF THERE IS ALOT OF WALKING INVOLED I USE THE ELECTRIC ONES,BUT I DON'T ABUSE IT. IF I NEED TO RUN IN A STORE AND PICK UP ONE OR TWO THINGS AND THEY ARE AT THE FRONT OF THE STORE I DON'T USE THEM.BUT IF I GO TO OUR SUPER WAL-MART I USE THEM BECAUSE IT IS TO BIG AND EVERYTHING IS SO SCATTRED OUT THAT I HAVE TO GO ALL OVER THE STORE& IT'S HARD TO WALK IT. IT IS THE SIZE OF TWO FOOTBALL FIELDS AND THAT'S JUST THE INSIDE. BUT I AGREE WITH SOME PEOPLE NEED THEM AND SOME PEOPLE ABUSE THEM. JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE TO LAZY TO WALK, AND PEOPLE LIKE ME HAVE TO SIT AND WAIT ON THEM TO GET THEOUGH WITH THEM, SO WE CAN DO OUR SHOPPING.

I would think those things are quite heavy, so anyone picking them up are most likely able to walk on their own. It's unfortunate, isn't it?
