I met my wife when I was 16. We worked together and knew that we were meant for each other. We got married two years later and have been happily married for 14 years. People who regret getting married are selfish and need to take a deep look at themselves. We are completely different people, but that is what I love about her. We complement each other.
All relationships are about give and take. If you can't get that, then you will lose out.

Here is the answer you are going to hate: gave up high school sweethearts, went to college, and found someone far more mature and that I can love far more deeply than I could in high school.
High school romances are sweet (especially on tv!), and some of them work great and they stay together forever. They are the VERY RARE exception, though (UNLESS they did not get married right out of high school. They do tend to work out okay if the couple waits a few years after graduation). The reality of it is that the younger you are when you get married, the better your chances of divorce, abuse, poverty, and misery. The couples that stay together for 75 years are rare, especially anymore. And those that are happy now, ask them if they are still happy in 20 years.

I met my hubby the summer before my senior years in high school. He had already graduated. We married 6 months after I graduated. That was 20 1/2 years ago.
I can honestly say I am even more in love with him now.
I can say there have been rough spots, as every married couple will attest, but we are both completely happy. All 5 of our kids are happy we are happy too ;-) In this day and age..to have children during marraige..that are by your husband..wow! I never thought that would be a surprise but reading the strange posts here..I guess it is a big thing! Im proud we have made it!
