I have to agree with you, but what makes him so feared is who hits behind him. What do you do? Every manager has got to hate facing the Sox in a close game in the 9th. Pitch to Papi or Manny. Sucks to be that manager

Albert Pujols. Just ask Brad Lidge.
As for the D-Rays fan who's whining for a salary cap... even with a salary cap, your team won't compete... because the good teams will spend to the cap... and the D-Rays will still spend as little as possible and let their good players leave via free agency... because your owner is a cheap loser who cares only about his profit margins.
If they capped salary at $100 Million... 5 teams would spend $99 Million... 5 teams would spend $20 million... and the other 20 teams would spend between $40 and 80 Million... just like now.
And the teams that spend $20 Million (the Marlins, Pirates, Royals, D-Rays and Rockies) would still lose 90+ games every year...
Baseball doesn't need a maximum roster salary.
It needs a MINIMUM roster salary... a floor... that every team MUST SPEND.
If you own a major league franchise and you're not willing to pay what it takes to have a roster full of professional players on it... you should sell the team to somebody who cares enough to try to win.
Ty Wigginton? Tomas Perez? Luis Ordaz? Greg Norton? Russ Branyan? Wes Bankston? Josh Paul? Shawn Riggins? These are just a few of the great position players that are taking up space on the D-Rays roster right now.
Shawn Camp? Casey Fossum? Doug Waechter? Bryan Meadows? Seth McClung? I could keep going.
Every pitcher on your team not named Scott Kazmir belongs in the minor leagues.
That's why you lose. Not because the Yankees spend $200 Million. The Red Sox and Blue Jays aren't spending HALF that... and they have no problem competing with the Yankees.
The White Sox didn't spend near that and they just won a world series.
It's called spending -ENOUGH- and having a smart front office.
Your team does/has neither.

I would have to say Ortiz also. He is just so clutch. Honestly, though with our pitching lately anyone is a feared hitter! We have problems this year.
Also enough with all the crap about the Yankees and money. The Red Sox play a close second in that department not to mention other teams.

I fear the Tigers, A's, and White Sox!!
I don't fear anyone or anything from the Red Sox!! Yes, they are in 1st place and yes they have a good team again, but let's not forget it's the mid way point of the season, anything can happen.
But I will tell you this...if we don't get some pitching help...we can kiss the playoffs good-bye...
There all the Yankee Haters & Yankee Fan Haters...have your say...because I know you will...tell us how we are the worst fans in baseball...I don't care anymore...I know that is NOT TRUE...so what ever you what to say, say it...you can believe what ever you want to...I know what's true and what's not.
Go Yankees!!

David Ortiz is definitely one of the most feared hitters in the game. Especially in clutch situations as he showed in the 2004 World Series. I think Pujols is second most feared.

I fear the entire Red Sox line-up! There is no rest when facing them.
I, however, laugh at the yankees.

I'm a Red Sox fan and I agree you should fear Papi. Your little "David Ortiz specialist," Mike Myers hasn't really helped you out, so good luck.
