I had the top of my ear pierced and it was a bit worse than the lobe, but after a few minutes you're too busy admiring your new earrings to remember the pain. I think having my tattoos hurt more.....

When mine were done with a needle, they didn't hurt at all.
When they were done with a gun, it hurt so badly I passed out after the first ear and going against just about every thing in basic first aid the idiot did the other ear as I was passed out.
Seek a professional. Get them done right.

Nope. Just have it done by a professional. Don't get your bestfriend to put ice on your ear and then pierce it with a needle LOL like i did. Also, make sure that the earings are properly sanitized and hypoallergenic... you wouldn't want it to get infected... yikes!

No. Just a quick prick feeling and then it's over in a matter of seconds. Get some good clearner for when it's done and clean them every night before you go to bed.

No, it doesn't really hurt in your lobe or cartilage. It's over very fast when done with a gun, and it may feel warm afterward, but it doesn't hurt.
