Mine is Posiden because I love horses and the sea! P.S. Just because Hades is the Underworld god doesn't mean he's evil!

Prometheus which means forethought, because he's supposed to be the pratron of human civilization by bring fire to man at the very high price of having his liver pecked at forever daily whilst tied to a rock. You got to respect his sacrifice which brought mankind power and knowledge. Oh, he is also attributed with being the creator of man which deserves no small thanks from us. THANK YOU PROMETHEUS! ! !

That's a good question. I like most of them, starting with Aphrodite. Goddess of love, beauty, and fertility.

Apollo, God of prophecy, archery and music.

But I've always felt bad for Atlas. He was a titan, and thought by the ancient Greeks to hold up the sky. His name means "he who carries".

He was condemned to shoulder the heavens forever, as punishment for fighting the sky god Zeus.

I really like Aphrodite - just because she represents beauty and love. I also like Athena, because she represents wisdom. But I think my favorite Greek god is Apollo- because he is the god of sun and music. I am a very happy person and I love music! =)

Athena. She was Goddess of wisdom and scholarship, patroness of skilled crafts, and encourager of the arts of peace -- but when push came to shove she could also manifest as Athena Promachos, "Athena Foremost in Battle", a better fighter than Ares the war-god. (Ever read that passage in the Iliad in which she cold-cocks Ares with a rock, disdaining to dirty her weapons on such a creep?)

Further, she knew how to use her powers mercifully. Artemis was surprised bathing by a hunter and to avenge her violated modesty punished him by turning him into a stag and having his own hounds tear him in pieces. When Athena was surprised bathing by Tiresias (hey, don't you think goddesses get sweaty in summertime?) she struck him blind for offending _her_ modesty -- but, because he hadn't intended to spy on her, made up for this by giving him the power of prophecy ("inward vision"). All in all, a goddess I wouldn't be ashamed to call my heavenly guide.

My faves are Zeus and Hera(Greek) or Jupiter and Juno. They are the parents of all the gods on Mt Olympus where they reside. Jupiter rules my astrological sign of Sagittarius.

I'm fond of the agricultural deities. In particular I like Priapos, the god of fertility of vegetable crops. He's also a protector of sheep, goats, bees, the vine and all garden crops.
I also like Bootes, the demi-god of ploughing.

Hermes. He is credited with teaching humans to write, to do math, and to do the other useful sciences without which civilization would not be possible.
