You said you tried everything.. Does it just "pop" up when you open your web browser? Or is it the site your web browser actually takes you to when you open your browser? If it takes you right to the web site when you open your browser the web site set your "home page" as that site. But surely if you tried everthing to fix it you thought of that already. Only other suggestion I would give is to e-mail the company / webmaster to that site, contact them, and tell them you are going to report them to the Business Bureau and the Internet Fraud Team if they are trying to trap you into a subscription. That is out right internet fraud. Hope this helps.

its called a browser high jacker. first check your home page under internet options. at the top you will see your current home page. if it says anything but the home page you want then change it to msn. yahoo. ext. now it its on the one you want. then you will have to do this. go to control panel - uninstall programs - and look for popcorn .com. now sometimes they hide under bogus names. any thing you see that you dont recognize you should uninstall. you should also do this - go to control panel and internet options, write below your home page entry you should delete cookies and files on the temperary internet. dont worry the file deletion is not your permanent files its only the temp ones. also on this same internet options page at the top right you will see the advanced tab click it and at the bottom click restore internet options. dont forget all this stuff that i tell you to do you must hit apply at the bottom of each. now last but not least for performance go to start menu - accesories - system tools and clean disk check mark all of them and hit ok. it will ask you the reject question - are you sure? of course im sure other wise i wouldnt have done it! LOL. and then go to start accesories system tools again and do defrag. now after all this. I want you to go to start menu and right above that go to run and type in ms config. at the top right you will see a tab called startup if you see anything odd that pertaines to the popcorn deal uncheck it and hit apply. there are many things here you can uncheck that run in the background uncheck any that you dont often use because it stops them from running when windows starts. dont worry they will start when you do need them. also the tab next to startup called services you can uncheck stuff here just be a little more carfull here. you can safely uncheck stuff in services by first check marking the box at bottom that sayes hide microsoft services. the more stuff you uncheck the faster your computer runs. now take your time and do all these things. last thing go to downloads.com or zdnet.com or googledownloads.com and get adaware se personal its free. install it update it and run full scan. it gets all the spyware and adware. after you do all this stuff trust me your computer will run faster than you have ever seen. usually quicker than when you got it brand new. Ive built computers and sup them up for long time. good luck. and email me at danbaird2006at yahoo.com

DO NOT JUST GO IN TO REGEDIT AND START DELETING STUFF! Get a free spyware program (I suggest ewido, its from the same makers as AVG free, a wonderful program) then run a scan. Find the official name of the virus/trojan/whatever and then search that. Find out everything you need to remove from the registry and other folders. Make sure you backup your registry before changing anything though.

If it changed your home page what "antiron" was referring to go to control panel and then to internet options and make sure it is not your home page because many websites will try to change thereselves into your homepage if it is a pop-up then just get a pop-up blocker which you can get for free on either google or yahoo toolbar

IF NONE OF THE METHODS ABOVE WORK THEN YOUR BROWSER HAS BEEN HIJACKED. HIJACKING IS DIFFICULT BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET RID OF
★★ BROWSER HIGHJACKING ★★
◙ Some people use a script on their web site to replace your browser's default home page to their URL. This way you have to always go to their web site when you click on the little house in the toolbar of your browser. No reputible webmaster would do this. Just greedy people who are jealous of good web sites. They generally do this to get you to buy something from them. I would never buy something from someone that did this to me.
◙ To fix the problem you used to have to run software like Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware etc. But now these people have pretty much found ways around them. In fact they include coding in these scripts that keep your browser from going to sites that can help you get rid of these malicious scripts. So to get around that you need to use the ip number to navigate to the site instead of the domain name.
◙ A really great site to help you get rid of these awful scripts is SpyWareInfo.com. They have some interesting articles written on this subject. Below are two of them.

◙ If you have any problems click on the link below. Then click on the CHAT link on that page in the left menu. There you can get someone to help you. Be nice to them and give them a lot of info so they can help you better.

I agree with Tiamoor. However, the website may have changed your default web page as well. Check the properties of Internet Explorer to be sure popcorn.com is not the default web page. If it is, change it.
