make huge impact on your life? More than a person in "real life"? What did they do or say to make that profound effect on you?

Oh most definitely!

This person allowed me "in" and therefore I allowed him "in" to the inner workings of......me. I guess it may sound strange to some but on here you get to know someone from the "inside out" without looks or appearence getting in the way of actually learning all there is to know about someone.

What did they do? He listened. No distractions! He would try to seriously understand every detail of my life and the goings on in my little head. He took the time.....he made the effort. Without seeing faces and hearing tones he realized how important it was to ask questions.......to delve......to understand. He taught me a great deal about listening......stopping and noticing every detail instead of just picking up on the obvious signs someone puts out.

I truly believe this friend made me a much more sensitive person not just on line....but in live all the way around. I thank him dearly for this!

Oh yeah! she became a muse to me, helped me in my work and not even there. She was real and honest, funny and smart, but the most profound thing she said to me was that she was jealous that I talked with other women from my 360 friends and that she was cutting herself. That's the last thing I heard from her. I can't send help, don't know where she lives. I'm FN sick, man! I'm trying to find her here on Answers but can't. I'm lost she is a great friend.

Yes! Does it count if you have actually met them? My friend has changed my life by being a sound voice of reason. My friend is also very intelligent and funny. They posses all the qualities that are desirable in another human being. I have great respect and admiration for them. As far as what they said, just kind words, good advice, funny and insightful stories on a daily basis. My friend is a rare and magical thing.

No.
The on-line world has always been viewed as separate and more of a fantasy fake world to me.
So the people I meet online aren't "real"

I am afraid of most of the people I have met online. I don't believe they are real. At the same time I can be more vulnerable because they really can't hurt me.

Yes. I "met" him several months ago. He made me laugh hysterically...and he still does. He always brings a smile to my face even when I'm feeling down. We've become the best of online friends.

yes.....we simply clicked. We laughed, we cried, we understood each other. We shared our deepest fears, we trusted and came to rely on each other. We've had our ups and downs but the friendship endures and hope it always will. We connected.
I would be lost without it.
And in case you didn't guess, I do love my friend dearly.....smile

Yes, 2 people!

one was a lawyer who talked me out of becoming one and the other one was a person who made me feel great about myself and got me out of a stressful and demining relationship
