A lot of people like to sue anyone for anything, i think it's stupid. I hate buying something and have a 400 page book of what not to do with the item. The sad part is that all these things i'm not suppose to do with the item were included in the book because, well, someone did it. If you're stupid enough to blowdry your hair while taking a bath, then you deserve to die and not live and breed. Where do we draw the line in putting a million warnings on products and letting people sue companies because of their stupidity? example, someone buys a rocking chair, obviously it's not a steady place to stand because well, it rocks. If someone stands on it and falls then sues the company that makes the chair because he sustained injuries, that to me is dumb, that person should be the one getting sued for stupidity.

I draw the line right through the lawyers!

Your average village idiot who sues the rocking chair company after he fell off it while using it as a stool shouldn't be told by a lawyer that he might have a claim against the light bulb company for it's bulb burning out and for it's replacement breaking and getting glass shards into his mullet. The village idiot doesn't know any better, he just sticks to what he knows best, beer and NASCAR. It's the lawyers who should be censured for taking cases that have no merit.

It's difficult to draw a line. Some lawsuits are justified because companies will use cheaper parts or unsafe designs to save money in production and people do get hurt (take a faulty chainsaw where the cutting rope flies off and cuts you), for ex.
I've also seen warning lables on buckets that say: don't let your kid stick his head in it when full of water. .. so yes, some people have no common sense, some are greedy and some are justified in suing.
The courts need to be stricter in throwing out frivolous lawsuits and juries need to be more prudent in their awards and match the award to the injury.

If I were a lawyer, I would absolutely refuse to take on any of these "litigation lottery" cases. I'm sick to death of criminals' families suing the police when they get hurt in a high speed chase; I'm sick of people who sue fast food companies because their kids are obese; what ever happened to PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY?...

but I digress...

Thank you for sharing this question with us.
You sure have a point there!..

I'd suggest you to look at it from a different angle:
Would you REALLY like to have it otherwise?

Oh by the way, please take a good care of yourself.
Have a nice day!
