I've been with my boyfriend for about a year and a half and we spend time on occasion with my best friends family. they took a liking to him and enjoy his company. her brother and male cousins recently invited him on a cruise with them and their whole family, including my best friend, and she doesn't get why i think its inappropriate if he goes with out me. keep in mind me and him haven't even taken a vacation yet with or without our own family's. am i being selfish?

He's not going of course because he isn't crazy. I just don't get why my best friends doesn't understand why its weird. My boyfrined only started communication wit hher male family member like 2 weeks ago, they aren't that close to him to invite him on a 7 day cruise, especially without me. And i'm not worried about her liking him she talks to his cousin. I just think if he knows them through me it should stay that way. If he wants to go on trips with anyone's family it should be his own, or mine.

I think you have a good reason to want to be with your boyfriend, but think of it this way: he's a guy who just wants to han gout with some other guys every once in a while. Your best friend's MALE family members invited him, not your best friend.

If you're really worried about him going on a cruise with your best friend's family and leaving you at home, you should be sure to talk to him and talk to your best friend about it. You don't have to sit them both down together and pour out your heat, but just let them each know how you feel, and since they probably care about you (since they are two of your best friends) they'll be sure to remember your feelings while they're on the cruise.

not at all! I wouldn't like it either! I think it is mostly because of her brother and cousins, but I definitely understand! He should respect your uncomfortableness with the situation, thank them for the invitation, and NOT GO. Because it sounds like their intentions are good, I think the issue should be whether or not your boyfriend should go, and if he does go, that is completely disrespectful to you.

Besides, your her BEST friend and he just gets along with her family. Why does he get invited over you???? That is the only part that sounds fishy to me!

i dont think you're being selfish at all. Personally Id be a little irked at the nerve of my friend to do something like that.

No, I believe it is really inaprocriate and I think you should be honest with your "best-friend" is there something else to this, and why didn't you get invited?

wow....first it sounds like he's just friends with her brother and male cousins....but unless they are just bringing him along because your friend may like him? it doesn't make sense because they are inviting him on their family vacation and not bringing you along. just because your best-friend's family likes him doesn't mean they can just bring him along and leave you out in the dust.

i can see why you see it inappropriate.
