It won't be as bad as everyone is predicting. The rotation in the frontcourt will be Tayshaun Prince, Antonio McDyess, Rasheed Wallace, and Nazr Mohammad. All four of those players are very good shot blockers and can rebound well. Mohammad can shoot free throws nearly 80%. Much better than Ben Wallaces 42% (and like 25% in the playoffs this past season). The Pistons still have three All-Defensive team players and vote getters in Billups, Prince and Wallace. It is a loss, but it isnt a huge loss. The Pistons will not do worse than second in the Central Division.

It is a hard loss for the team but they well get somone to replace him maybe someone good as him or not the Pistons just need someone to block inside and apply pressure as well but they still would make the playoffs next season i know it is going to be hard with out BIG BEN in the line up. But that how the game is played with wins and losses.

That is a major loss to the Pistons..Offensively they will miss his rebounding and defensively the intimidation will be missed from the big man in the paint.Opposing teams wont be as scared to drive the lane now knowing "Big Ben" is no longer there. He didn't when defensive player of the year for nothing.

They will still make the playoffs because it is the East Conference. Their defense will suffer but the free throws percentage will be higher. They still have Dale davis and Mcdyess and a good trade for Nazr. But all in all, pistons are worse without Big Ben because u can't replace his energy.

They're an aging team already. Rasheed and Chauncy are close to retirement. They had a shot at a chapionship in '05 but they let it slip away to the Spurs. They won't have that dominate force down low. Big men like Shaq will tear them apart. I personally don't think they'll have a chance at the Playoffs for a while.

Excellent question. It's huge, baby. I cannot see them replacing that sort of defensive presence this season. It'll also put more pressure on Sheed and he is not really good as THE guy. In Portland he imploded and has he matured enough to take over as the leader of the frontcourt in Detroit?

Very little. They will miss his rebounding but not his offense. They will be rotating players at his position a lot more than they ever did. They should make th playoffs.
