In recent years science stories, documentaries and books seem to be more basic or undeveloped in intent and somewhat sarcastic in tone. Should some recent general science books be taken off bookshelves to be replaced with perhaps books regarding the history of science - essentially books that inspire instead of providing haphazard analysis based on TV documentaries and theories driven by left field discontent within the academy.

yes the history of science really is the only way to explain sceince i belive that the history is very interesting and people would begin to enjoy science.

(what annoys me most is that when u do history in school its usually political history even then they teach u **** all,
the history behind any subject is the most important and is the only true way to understand anything)

I haven't noticed a problem with books or magazines. I read Science News, Discover, Air & Space to name a few and noted any lack of quality. Television is another story, but televisions job is to attract viewers, not to be accurate or real.
