We now are having debates on if it is cruel to tell a fat child he/she is obese?

Isn't it amazing how as a society, we whitewash the truth because it is what it is. When is an "F" not an "F" on a report card?

Gee, Johnny, you got about 50lbs of spare tire there...looks like a LIFETIME of problems if we don't get that on check...heart disease, impotence, diabetes, etc, etc...but let's play it safe now because it's now so PC to just do NOTHING!

God Bless America!

I am an adult. I am an obese adult. It's hard for me to say out loud. I was an obese child.

Parents, your children will fight you on it, and make your lives miserable, but it will so better the younger you establish good habits in your children's lives. Get together with a doctor and do the right thing by your child. No matter how many times your child tells you how much she or he hates you, be the grownup. Remember that you are the adult and it's up to you to make sure the right choices are being made. Don't give up on them or give in to them. Make it right.

Fat people know they are fat. Really. You don't have to tell them. They already know.
