Our government is based on the philosophies of Lock, and he says that the sole purpose of the government is to benefit the people, so if the government stops benefiting the people, it is not only their right to overthrow it, but their duty. So, if you believe that the government does not benefit you, than it is your civic duty to assassinate Congress.

If ya really wanna get into doing your civic duty - get everyone you know voting, signing petitions, writing to congressmen, and that kinda stuff.

While I hesitate to say violence is an an answer, it is an answer nonetheless! Perhaps the threat of violence or a show of mass non-violent protest (numbering tens of millions) might get those jerks to pay attention!
