I'm all or nothing type of person. Each relo I have starts with the talk about who will be sub or dom. I prefer to be at the helm as dom. I am therfore the bradwinner and he must do as I say, ultimately. I sometimes have the opposite relo. Where he is dom. But I find the ship isn't run tight enough and ut can drift in to nothingness. I do like discussion its better than arguing.

Personally, I don't think D/S is a good foundation for a relationship. Because D/S is basically emotional role playing and those who make it a way of life are isolating themselves from the full range of emotions and subtle give and take in a relationship. Additionally with D/S each person suppresses one side of their personality for some "spiritual and emotional transcendence" when it's not about them anymore it's about the experience. Mind games. With a relationship outside of that it's not about dominance or submission, a relationship outside of D/S is about a balance between the two, a shared balance. In D/S there is no sharing, it's always either top and bottom.

If I was you I wouldn't do it permanently, I would only do it on occasion as a fun role play. The con of doing it on a daily basis would be you would loose your sense of self dignity and worth, it can be turned into physical and mental abuse.

Sometimes the dominant wants to take more control than the submissive can obtain.
Pros? It's fun to sometimes be submissive, or to take control.

It's a lifestyle choice. Some people are into it, and why not? Can be fun if all parties consent.
