Why is it that liberals are wrong on every issue, yet insist that they are only being "open minded." Isn't it better to have morals/convictions/beliefs than to be all "every thing's ok, I'm open to new ideas, believe what's true to you." How come they preach individuality, and yet want to turn the US into a communist state? how come they can't rationalize anything? Why do they avoid a direct answer to any question? Why do they think free speech is so great? Look where it's gotten them. Why do they think that the definition of conservative is "George W Bush"? Why will most of the liberals "answering" this question only rant about how I'm a closed minded bigot, and not really answer anything? Why don't we just shoot them all?

Shoot them all huh? Geese that doesn't sound close minded at all does it. Who's to say the liberals are wrong on ANY issue? There is no liberal out there looking to change the United States towards communism. Who are you kidding that liberals avoid answers to direct questions? Don't you watch CNN and how the President, Donald Rumsfeld, Condaleeza Rice, or any other member of the administration constantly avoid any question that has to do with Iraq, Afghanistan, the current economic turmoil this country, or the "War on Terror" abroad.Because they were wrong and wont admit to their mistakes in fear of making themselves look like the coniving liars that they are. Where did you grow up? HMMM... Let me guess in a rural, protestant, White house hold in a town with 250 people none of them a minority I'm sure. How can you support a party unwilling to accept the fact that our society is evolving? It's great to have morals and convictions, but when you attempt to persuade the whole to believe only what you believe then you are a close minded biggot. We live in a society that has a multitude of sub cultures and religions that all have something to offer and your inabilty to see that these people may have something valid to contribute to societies growth truly shows that the country is in severe trouble because there are people like you still living in it. If anything you need to rationalize your thoughts before sharing them with the world, you sir are the one who needs to be shot!

I think what you need to realize is that none of this really matters. No matter what morals or ethic code you run (read:ruin) your life with, you will always perceive the world in distortion. Liberals appear "wrong" to you because you are trying to look at everyone on the other side of a large wall.

I'm not trying to judge you. Everyone has these same issues. In fact, if I was trying to judge you, that would make me a hypocrite. Not to say that I'm not a hypocrite--I'm sure I do and say tons of things that contradict each other. I think everyone just needs to get past this wall we've built around each other, and the only way to do this is to stop caring. Stop applying labels to each other like "conservative" or "liberal" or "communist", etc. Each one of these names is just a small hole carved out in the wall. When you are looking through them, you can only see a small portion of reality.

Just forget your opinions and it makes everything so much easier. Seriously. Just take in everything from all sides and then decide which things will work in YOUR life without running (read: ruining, again) someone else's. Who cares if that guy over there is gay--does that REALLY, actually affect you? Do other opinions and free speech burn so deeply in your heart that you want to rip it out and lay on the floor in your own blood? Do all these issues you have create such tension that you would justify a war, one filled with many blood-riddled floors of foreign countries? Because if so, I really don't care.

Conservatives are for the status quo - by definition. Liberals are for progress.

Thus, it was liberals that fought for Civil Rights. They got it right. Conservatives got it wrong (and at that time a lot of them were Democrats at the time, so this isn't about party, it's about philosophy).

Thus, it was liberals that fought for women's suffrage. They got it right, Conservatives got it wrong.

Thus, it was liberals that are fighting homophobia. All polls suggest that as younger generations take power, they will get it right, and Conservatives will, once again, be judged wrong.

Well, they're not wrong on every issue, but your points about "open-mindedness" and about how they'll respond seem to be on target. They believe in free speech for EVERYONE...who agrees with them. If you don't, you need to just shut the f**k up. If you disagree, offering a different opinion, you're "closed-minded". It's funny how they don't even see their own hypocrisy.
