Italy has a better chance I think. I hope so at least. When you look at the game Italy played against Germany it was much better than the France vs. Portugal one. Italy was on fire. They were attacking well and defending well. Buffon is a great goalkeeper. This is due or die time and Italy will realize that. They have to play well 'cause they don't want to go out on a shootout!!! Better to score than leave it to the shootout and leave it up to chance. They have to step it up and put their heart and soul in it. This is their best chance at winning the Cup in a long time.
I like France but I love Italy so it should be a very good game to watch. Both teams are strong but I really believe Italy will prevail in the end.

Italy will. They are on fire as are the French, I believe they have more to offer. They have the usual steel trap defence no one has scored on them in the WC thus far - except another Italian. France on the other hand didn't score a goal in 8 games. Yes they beat the Brazilians, but Italy beat Germany on home ground. Plus I think its a case of France having Brazil's number when hey play, they are not necessarily a more talented team. Same as Italy and Germany.
What concerns me is that the French have a great record against the Italians too.
The Italians also have a terrible shoot out record too. Then again they never had Buffon in net and everyone is cognizant of what happened in 1994 - no one wants to be another Baggio.

I think Italy is going to win. I think it is going to be a tight game. France is playing awesome but Italy is on such a high right now that I think they are going to pull it off.
