If you can afford both, get both. The Xbox is a better system (HD, faster, better graphics), but there are some games out there that are pretty good and only ported for the PS2.

If you have both, you get the best of both worlds. My advise though, don't buy them brand new. Although they are cheaper these days. You can still get better deals with people selling their used systems. ie. console, extra controllers, sometimes even games are included. Even better, if you can get a modded system (for either one), you can get even more games (if you know what I mean).

But if you can only afford one of them, get the Xbox.

I own both systems, and I would have to say that it depends on what types of games you play. I like the PS2 for the Resident Evil series, and most single player games. However, for multiplayer games, like Halo and the variety of racing games available, you can't beat the Xbox.

You can't really compare a stock 2 controller console, to another with 4.

Plus, if you get the Xbox, the 360 is offering the newest Resident Evil just before the release of the PS3, so odds are it will be available on the original as well.

It would depend entirely on what type of games you enjoy playing.

PS2 is great for RPG's plus you have a much wider selection of games to choose from as all the old PS games work on the PS2 system.

XBox is great for more action oriented games but it has less game options.

I would get a PS2 over an XBox anyday, if I could only have one. I have a PS2, XBox, Gamecube, PC, GBA and DS - I play on the PS2 more than any other gaming system.

Xbox is more powerful. I like sony but Ps2s are getting old.

I don't like xbox360 and I do like ps2 over the normal xbox.

PS3 will kill everything.

Except for the choice of games the gamecube beats xbox in specs.

Save your money man
XBOX is 180 bucks
PS2 are 100-149
PS2 are delivering the same graphics basically and have a wider game range
If you can go for PS3 mabye a PSP or try the Wii because it's cheaper than the PS3 which is 500-600 bucks wereas the Wii is 200-400

i hate my xbox. i almost threw it out the window the other day. i have never had any problems with my PS2, but my xbox rarely loads games, brand new games too. it always says the disks are dirty or damanged, but they aren't. plus PS2 has better games ^^

I would get what most of your friends have so you can network and swap games. I prefer the PS2 personally
