it seems that if we cut and run we regret it later. How are things now in North Vietnam? Was there any bad consequences to our premature withdrawal?
We cannot just keep dividing copuntires into parts. it did not work for England with India. Pakistan and India are at nuclear loggerheads no. Sometimes you must finish a mistake before you quit, even if you admit it was wrong to start.

I think Gen. MacArthur was fired for wanting to drop atomic bombs onto the troops building on the Chinese boarder. I think the world would have been better off now if they have.

Would you have been willing to fight Red CHina's MILLIONS of troops which were only miles away? Would you have been willing to trade nukes with China AND the USSR? That's what might have happened. ANyway, we're still technically at war with NK, so it might still happen.

And to add: I think the re-unification of E and W Germany is proof of a "win" in terms of partitioning countries.

I do know this. Jack Kennedy met with him once. He cautioned Kennedy not to get involved in Viet Nam. That we would never win there.

He had U.N troops.
Wasn't an all U.S. operation.
