Whoa!! Slow down people.. You guys are misleading this guy..

Check it out.. USA has 2 Cellphone Technology..

GSM and CDMA/TDMA

Verizon and Sprint have CDMA tech.. Which is they don't use SIM chip.

Tmobile and Cingular have GSM tech.. Its the new tech. and Its widely use in Europe and Asia..

About Nextel.. hmmnnn their something else.. I guess confuse. heheheh..

Ok here goes the Answer! Mobile makers make phones to suite their providers like Cingular and Verizon.. So What I mean is If RIM produce a blackberry that's CDMA for Verizon they also produced blackberry for Cingular which is GSM..

Now here is the tricky part.. CDMA phones cannot be unlocked. So if It is made for Verizon It can only be used for verizon..

In the other hand.. GSM phones can be unlocked! You can get your Sidekick unlocked and get it to work with Cingular service..

Trust me!! I know because I've tried it!!

As a matter a fact I'm using a Tmobile phone right now with a Cingular service!

NO, BLACKBERRY WORKS WITH : NEXTEL, TMOBILE, CINGULAR, VERIZON WIRELESS AND THEN SIDEKICKS ONLY WORK WITH TMOBILE. BUT IF YOU BOUGHT A BLACKBERRY FROM TMOBILE AND WANT TO HAVE ANOTHER CARRIER (IF U WANNA SWITCH TO CINGULAR OR WHATEVER) U GOTTA CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE OF THE CARRIER U BOUGHT THE PHONE FROM AND TELL THEM TO UNLOCK IT.MORE INFO: EMAIL ME
