The best place to start would be eBay I'm afraid. You can easily pick up a pair of used CD players and a mixer for under £100. The tough bit will be finding a decent power amplifier and speaker set up. You may get lucky but it's worth a shot. Failing that try your local free ads paper as there are always many old mobile DJ's selling off their older stuff as they get new kit.

they are the cheapest on the market too
next you have cash converters, pawn brokers.
so there is a chance you might get something
you can see what your buying there
you wont find out if you don`t look
then you have E-bay
you pay you get what you get
sometimes you pay and get nothing
so you have a few choices
3 ideas there for you
i prefer 2nd option as they are on your doorstep,any problems you can go back to them
4th option is save up more money to get better & newer stuff in fact buy new if you can
