This is such a broad question. What percentage in which country? US? Or worldwide? Geographically? And which years are you looking for? Annual percentages or accumulation of years?
Totals can be reflected in many ways, depending on the data collected: population sampling; bell curves (showing a measured period of time); a line graph reflecting changes in poverty levels, the list goes on.
I'm not sure how to answer the question when the question is rather vague. Perhaps you can give more specifics.
