Pay your bills on time.
Don't file for Bankruptcy.
Don't cancel your credit cards you don't use even if it has a high APR cause that will cut down on the length of you credit (how long you have had it) especially if it is a card you have had for a long time.

If no credit history, get a prepaid credit card. there is no credit check.

First thing you can do is pay your bills on time and pay off your debt. It will get better over time until your debt free.
