Here's a secret from my country, the Philippines. It's been passed down from many generations as the ultimate voice enhancer. Boil some ginger in some water and add sugar to it if you like. It's somewhat of a ginger juice, here it's called "SALABAT".
Anonymous tip: To get powerful vocal chords, submerge yourself in water all the way up to your neck ang jaw until your vocal chords are underwater. Then, practice your songs and singing from there. The water pressure will allow your bronchial tubes to be exersized giving you a much more powerful voice.
Hope this helps.

Avoid milk and dairy products, don't use cough drops that have menthol. Avoid alcohol. Don't drink hot or cold beverages before singing.
Staying well hydrated is the best for good vocal chords. Soothing them with warm water with honey an hour or more before singing helps to lubricate.
What you eat or drink doesn't touch your vocal chords, but the swallowing mechanism tightens your airways, so don't eat or drink anything before singing.

Black licorice. I eat a little before singing, cause it is good for the immune system and clears out any phlegm. Stay away from anything dairy before going on, cause it is heck on the vocal cords and makes an abundance of mucus. Take care and good luck with your singing!

Water is a the best thing to drink when you are rehearsing and practicing.and also recording.
You want to avoid spicy and carbonated things a couple of hours before you do any singing as these can interfer with your voice in one manner or another.

I don't know of any good foods , but I do know that you should avoid milk if you are singing. apparently it coats the throat and it is harder to sing.
