I realize the Royals will never be much with thier current owner and small market, but could George Brett help the team? if not in KC where?
or does he even want a job like that?

I think he would be a great manager. He has a passion for the game that is hard to find these days and definately has an understanding for the fundamentals of the game. He also would immediately have the teams respect due to his status in baseball.

Yes, I think Brett could be a good manager. But like any other manager and/or coach you need good players to win. If you put Brett in the dugout of the 06 Royals instead of Buddy Bell, maybe they win 5-6 more games but they still are a lock for 100 losses. Remember you can't make chicken salad out of chicken ----.

Probably not.

Only because he is too nice a guy.

Look at what Alan Trammell did as manager.

When Tram first become manager I was excited....but he was too nice and let the players walk all over him. He never put his foot down with them.

I'd love to see George Brett be a good manager.....he's a great guy.

a few years ago bud harrelson played shortstop for the mets.
even though he had a low batting average. we love him. he
was the best defensive shortstop at the time. a few years later
he became manager. he was the worst manager the mets had.
he was booed out town. that's why allstars usually don't become managers.except frank robinson most managers are average players

I bet he would...probably sell a few more season tickets as well to see #5 on the field again.

I think he would be great. I remember the season he chased .400--those were the days.
