If a person called the non emergency police line 6 times in one day asking legit questions, then calling the next day 13 times asking legit questions, and keep in mind that each time the person calls, a different phone operator picks up the phone, How many days could they do this where they call 6 times one day and 13 times the next day before the police would send out a patrol car to the address of the person calling them?

The huge number of calls will EVENTUALLY become "harassment" -- which is a crime.
Even though the courts in general held that the courts should be reluctant to infer intent to harass from just making calls during normal business hours, it is still possible to do so if the number of call verges on ridiculous.

Also, intent may be inferred by other means. For example by digging up a post on yahoo answers that says that you want to harass police by making a lot of calls.

That would be like asking if you exceeded the speed limit every day, how often would you be ticketed. Most of these things are chance. Such as, the same operator picked up all the calls and noticed that they were coming from the same number.

The police would first have to tell the person on the phone to stop. If the person does not comply then the police come over.

probably no more than 2 or 3 days. i'll bet they can trace calls and can see when i particular number keeps coming up so many times.

I don't think a person would get away with it. They could probably fine you for it cause you're not letting some other person get their emergency calls in.

i doubt highly, in my small town, that they would be able to show up at all....there just isn't enough of them...

as a matter of fact, you wouldn't get another operator, there is only three...one for days, one for nights, and one for their time off....

so i would say..it definitely depends on where you live.
