As I study Art History and Renaissance Art is my speciality, I can tell you that The Da Vinci Code can not be true. I have studdied Leonardo da Vinci's life and works for a long time now Dan Brown is a very clever fiction writer but he is not a historian. He makes massive errors with regard to some of the art works he uses, not just in The Da Vinci Code but also in Angels and Demons. He is prone to hyperbole and I would ask him for primary source proof to bolster his theories. I'd take a bet that he couldn't find any as if there was any, I'd certainly know about it. (And that's only with regard to the art). The Magdalene Theory is another kettle of fish. As a pagan, I'd like to think that this was grounded in fact but unfortunately I doubt whether any evidence to support it will ever come to light, that's if any ever existed anyway. The Dossier Secrets and the 'new' Priory of Sion have already been exposed as a hoax so I fail to see what can be true? Don't get me wrong, I'm quite a fan of Mr Brown's fiction but that's all it is, fiction, nothing more, nothing less.

You just opened up a can of worms with these religous nuts...

They are really touchy about the book and movie. I personally loved both, and there are SOME facts in there, and from the facts it is possible that most if not all of it is true. It makes sense to me, and if it is true or real then that means that Jesus was the most spiritual person that ever lived and died for it. And that would also mean that the church is a bunch of bull....which I don't doubt. Don't get me wrong, I believe in God but I keep my faith in him within my heart not at church every Sunday and pay them for letting me do it.

Well most of his so called facts aren't true as presented in the book. You can look them up yourself. I studied a lot of Church History and apogrypha a long time ago so I jsut kept thinking, "what on earth is he talking about??" the whole way through. If it is true that Jesus had a daughter then, well, we will probably never know anyway, and as way pointed out in the book, that doesn't change Jesus divinity. It was still a fun book though, movie was blah.

Personally, I find it a bit ridiculous to think that Jesus, in the course of his intentionally normal life prior to the age of 30, did not marry and have children.

Meanwhile, the "real" people, places and organizations in that book are all highly fictionalized for purposes of literary drama and sense. Brown's a fiction writer, not a historian or a professor.

If they are true, it really does not change much. If people still have their faith and beliefs, than that should be enough for me.

There is nothing wrong with what the book talks about or even suggests, however, bible-thumpers get all crazy the minute something is questioned.

The novel is based on real artwork and organizations. The plot is fiction. But it is interesting to think about! It makes me want to see the artwork and architecture in Rome and Paris even more.

They're all theories that have been around for centuries that he stole and included in a shitty book. Anyways, the world can never know for sure, but my guess is that Jesus probably did have kids (he was a man after all).

The catholic church has lied to us for years but now all that stuff that idot wrote will have people questioning wheater it is lies or fact. I enjoyed the book and left it as that I am not letting it sway my faith in anyway. I think that is what evryone should do.

I'm not sure how that would affect us, since there is no way to prove or disprove that it was true.
